These are the yummiest cookies I've ever tasted.  I got the recipe from my good friend Belle...who says it is just the recipe that used to be on the Quaker Oats lid!  I don't care where it came from...I'm just glad I've got it to share with you!

Belle's Oatmeal Raisin Cookies

1 1/4 c. butter (NOT margarine)

3/4 c. packed brown sugar

1/2 c. sugar

1 egg

11/2 t. vanilla

3 c. uncooked oats (old fashioned oatmeal)

1 3/4 c. all purpose flour

1 t. salt

1 t. baking soda

1 cup raisins (or more…I use about 1 and 1/2 cups)

Cream together butter, sugars and egg. Add vanilla. In a separate bowl combine oats, flour, salt and baking soda. Add dry ingredients to creamed - mix well. Add raisins. Form into large balls (golf ball sized or bigger…use an ice cream scoop to measure). Bake on ungreased cookie sheet 350 degrees for approx. 12 mins.

Note: Dough balls can be frozen. To bake..place frozen dough balls on sheet and bake a few minutes longer than usual at 350 degrees.
