Fall 2007

11/6/07

This is a quickie update...I can't believe our last update was in June!  We did have a wonderful summer of camping and made to all the locations in the Summer 2007 update with the exception of Bear Head Lake in Ely.  We'll try for that one next summer!

Fall has been...busy!  We enjoyed our annual trip to the Pumpkin Festival in Morton in September.  Chris started a different job at Cargill and has been traveling more.  He is in Japan as I write...I hope to share pictures of his trip upon his return.

I have no problem filling my days.  With Nathaniel in half day kindergarten...I was wondering what I'd do with all that free time.  Hah!  Between volunteer commitments at school and church...plus helping with homework...I've got no time to spare.  But I love it (mostly!)

Of course each of the kids have their own things going on too, see below for details.

Get ready for the holidays...they are coming!

Annabelle.
Annabelle is busy...with homework!  She does find time for other things too.  She is still in the Wooddale Church Choir (and I'm by her side as a parent helper this year). See below for upcoming performances.  She has also joined "Deep Woods" - a great bible study offered at Wooddale.  Annabelle joined the Drama team at Wooddale...and is doing some skits for  early childhood education this fall.  At school she is still in Girl Scouts (cookie sales in January!) and in 4th grade choir.  Math is challenging (yikes - Venn diagrams and functions).  She loves her KEY class - the enriched program at school for Language Arts.   Her favorite past times are still reading and a growing interest in e-mail!  I'm hoping she will update her web page soon!   You can e-mail me and I will share her e-mail address with you.  See Annabelle's personal page (Annabelle's Anthology) for her perspective on things and news.

Upcoming performances with the Wooddale Choir

"Come to the Manger"

Friday, November 30 2007  7:30 p.m.

FREE!!!!!!!!!

Annabelle will be in the choir (no speaking part)

This musical is a free event in the Worship Center that will feature the 100 voice “Sounds of Praise” Children’s Choir and the Drama Ministry of Wooddale Church. The music and storyline will delight audiences of all ages as it literally ‘builds’ the manger scene as the musical progresses. This heartwarming experience will help all of us to think of the manger of Jesus Christ first as we enter the Christmas season.

"Christmas at Wooddale"

December 7 and 8 (Friday, Saturday) 8:00 p.m.  and Sunday, December 9 at 2:00 p.m.

Cost - $10 - but well worth it!

Annabelle will be appearing with the choir, no speaking part.  The choir sings for a small section of this outstanding musical event.  The best Christmas show I've seen.

“A Child, A Savior, A King” is the theme of this year’s Christmas At Wooddale concerts. This year the concerts are a biblically based musical celebration of the birth and mission of Jesus Christ. The 100-voice Wooddale Church Traditional Choir, Contemporary Choir, Orchestra, the 100-voice Sounds of Praise Children’s Choir, the Wooddale Drama Team and the Visser-Rowland Pipe Organ played by Dr. Desi Klempay are featured in the production. Also, Wooddale is proud to have as special musical guest, world-renowned classical guitarist Christopher Parkening.
Tickets are on sale at the Wooddale Church ticket office for $10 each (952-656-1056 or www.wooddale.org)

Nathaniel
Nathaniel is doing very well in Kindergarten!  He goes joyfully every day and has a wonderful teacher.  We have dropped occupational therapy...over the summer something clicked and he can write like a champ!

Nathaniel is still obsessed with Legos!  He is moving on to Technic Legos...the more advanced building system by Lego.  It  is amazing how he can assemble those models and create his own contraptions! Visit our video links page to see him playing with Legos!

We are still reading lots of books.  He has loved reading the "Andrew Lost" series by G.C. Greenburg.  He also loves humorous books by Tedd Arnold, Robin Pulver, Margie Palatini , David Catrow, David Shannon (he is waiting for the next "No David" book!) and others!

Next Update...Christmas/New Year 2008!
