Some Fun Things to do with the little ones in your life!
Rice Box
I
gave this to Nathaniel for Christmas and have been amazed at how many hours it
has been played with. Not only Nathaniel, but Annabelle and her
kindergarten buddies love to play with it to. It is very simple to make. I
used a Rubbermaid under-bed storage box and filled it with 5 lbs white
rice.
Prayer Sticks
We made this the week of National Day of Prayer. I wanted a way for us to pray together as a family aloud - and this seems like a fun way. On each stick, I wrote a phrase to complete (listed below). We each draw a stick (or 2 in our case) and complete the phrase listed for the family prayer. We haven't used them as often as I'd like - but it is a start!
1. "Lord, you are_____________." (Praise & Worship)
2."Lord, forgive me for_____________(Confessing sin)
3. "Lord. thank you for_____ (Thanking God)
4. "Lord, please help_____ (Praying for the needs of others)
5. "Lord, I need_____ (Praying for own needs)
6. Amen!

Take Me Out of the Bathtub and Other Silly Dilly Songs by Alan Katz
Every house with a kid should have this book. I love to sing, especially silly songs. Get it at the library to try it - you'll love it so much you'll want to buy it (I did!)
