May 2008

I plan to spend lots of time in this hammock this summer!  I bought it as a Mother's Day gift for myself!  It is suspended between 2 trees in our front yard.

Annabelle chillin' out in the hammock.

Nathaniel's first year of soccer.  He is playing the spring season with the Eden Prairie Soccer Association.  He is number 6.

Annabelle with the entire 4th grade from her school at the high school for Track and Field Day.  Annabelle is in the center/left in the hot pink capris and orange tank top.

Get set...Go!  Annabelle in the center ready to take off!

Annabelle holding a craft we made together from Family Fun Magazine.  You stack different diameters of buttons and connect them with floral wire.  I also added felt flowers and used the buttons as centers for them.

Making the strawberry box!  Nathaniel loves strawberries and wanted to grow some this year.  So Chris made us a box to make a raised bed for strawberries in the garden.  Too bad we can't enjoy the fruit until next year! (you must pinch all the blossoms off the first year to help the plants establish)

More work on the strawberry box.

The veggie patch in the lower yard (fenced with trellis in center)...with the strawberry box in place.

Mother's Day 2008.  Nathaniel's gift of a self portrait!

Annabelle's gifts were this garden trinket and also a TIME Magazine cover with me named Mom of the Year!

The end to a nice Mother's Day...we bike up to Eden Prairie for supper then relaxed for a few minutes after that long (13 mile) bike ride.

The gardens in spring.  The fenced garden in at the bottom of the hill is the veggie patch.

Nathaniel at Track and Field day.  Seen here doing a sack race.

The rubber chicken relay...a Prairie View tradition!

The (kindergarten) graduate.

Annabelle did another drama in service...a very funny skit.  Click on video link section to see this one - it is a must see!

Another picture from the drama.

A facelift for our front porch.  We replaced some of the rotting spindles and made the support posts "beefier".

Everyone helped paint the new railing.

Nathaniel at his kindergarten musical.  The first time he has actually sang on stage...he did great!  See Nathaniel sing in our video link page.

Dancing with his partner.

After the musical performance, we went back to his room for a celebration.  Here we are doing the chicken dance.  See it in action on our video link page
