NESTLÉ® Choc-Oat-Chip Cookies

cups all-purpose flour

1

teaspoon baking soda

1/2

teaspoon salt (optional)

1-1/4

cups firmly packed brown sugar

1/2

pound (2 sticks) butter or margarine, softened

1/2

cup granulated sugar

2

large eggs

2

teaspoons milk

2

teaspoons vanilla extract

2-1/2

cups Quaker® Oats (quick or old fashioned, uncooked)

2

cups (12-oz. pkg.) NESTLÉ® TOLL HOUSE® Semi-Sweet Chocolate Morsels

cup coarsely chopped nuts (optional)

  1. Heat oven to 375° F.
  2. In large bowl, beat margarine and sugars with electric mixer until creamy. Add eggs, milk and vanilla; beat well. Add combined flour, baking soda and salt; mix well. Stir in oats, chocolate morsels and nuts; mix well.
  3. Drop dough by rounded tablespoonfuls onto ungreased cookie sheets.
  4. Bake 9 to 10 minutes for a chewy cookie or 12 to 13 minutes for a crisp cookie. Cool 1 minute on cookie sheets; remove to wire rack. Cool completely. Store tightly covered.

Christina's notes:  I use this recipe for our annual "Thankful Friends" cookies.  I always use butter (no margarine) and substitute M & M candies for half the chocolate chips (1 cup of each).
