Wednesday - 7/13/05...dozing on the road from Pittsburgh to Washington
D.C. We left around 4:30 a.m. to make it there in time for some
sightseeing! |
|
The White House! Annabelle is determined to live there someday! |
|
Washington Monument. |
More construction for Nathaniel to watch. |
|
Visiting the WWII Memorial. |
Posing near Illinois - thinking of my Grandpa who flew planes in the
war. |
Resting! We walked from our hotel on Thomas Circle all the way to
Arlington National cemetary. Several miles - I'd guess in the 95
degree humidity! |
The Lincoln Memorial! |
Walking across the Potomac river. |
Waiting to ride the Metro - so glad to have A/C! |
Watching the Metro speed by. |
Nathaniel passed out in the National Archived - he wasn't too excited
by the Declaration of Independence. |
|
The National Sculpture Garden. |
|
Thursday 7/14/05. Annabelle posing outside Smithsonian Castle -
on the Memorial Mall. |
Inside the National Museum of Natural History. |
Annabelle and I loved looking at the inaugural gowns in the National
Museum of American History. |
Nathaniel loved the trains and tractors in the lower level. |
|
Annabelle with the Ruby Slippers from the Wizard of Oz! |
Yes - I know this is sideways - but it is Annabelle posing with a Monet
in the National Museum of Art. |
Nathaniel loved this airplane (pretty much all we saw at the National
Air and Space museum). |
The Capital Building |
A very hot and tired Nathaniel playing with trucks outside the Capital
Bldg. |
|
The view from our hotel in Washington D.C. We were just about 5
blocks from the White House. |
Our room at the Wyndam - it was great! |
